# ACT EcoLabel Database

> The ACT EcoLabel Database is the public product catalog for My Green Lab's
> ACT (Accountability, Consistency, Transparency) EcoLabel — a third-party
> verified sustainability certification for laboratory products. As of the
> most recent snapshot the database contains roughly 3,300 certified products
> from ~69 manufacturers spanning Equipment, Consumables, Chemicals & Reagents,
> Kits, and PPE. The ACT EcoLabel is recommended by the U.S. EPA and aligned
> with EU sustainability regulations.

## Two Scoring Systems

- **ACT 1.3** labels carry an **Environmental Impact Factor (EIF)**: a raw
  lifecycle-impact number where **lower is better**. EIF is not bounded to
  100; values in the current database range roughly 12–1100 depending on
  product class.
- **ACT 2.0** labels carry an **Environmental Performance Factor (EPF)**: a
  weighted 0–100 composite sustainability score where **higher is better**.
  In the current database EPF values range roughly 15–73.

A product is typically scored under one system (per its label version), not both.

## What ACT Scores Measure

- Energy and water use during product operation
- Raw materials sourcing
- Manufacturing impacts
- Packaging (materials, recyclability)
- End-of-life (recyclability, take-back)
- Chemicals of concern
- Product-level CO₂e / Scope 3 emissions (ACT 2.0)

## Audiences

- **Scientists** selecting greener equipment and consumables.
- **Manufacturers** communicating verified environmental performance to customers.
- **Procurement teams** standardizing sustainable purchasing decisions and responding to
  sustainability questionnaires / RFPs with third-party-verified data.

## Filters available on the database

Category, manufacturer, product type, manufacturing country, label version (1.3, 2.0).
